Introduction.

I teaching in the hydrologic field, with emphasis in surface hydrology and land use effect on water redistribution, erosion and solid transport in watercourses. Interdisciplinary view is strongly needed as my courses are taught for two careers: Forestry and Natural Resources Conservation.

As a result my teaching interests are to provide students with a strong expertise in space/time environmental-hydrological tools, and to teach them the skills needed to implement the concepts they have learned to a wide variety of interdisciplinary environmental applications encompassing hydrology.

My Teaching Philosophy.

My teaching philosophy is to challenge the students intellectually so they learn and retain concepts for their long term academic and professional career rather than using tools as a black box, and to provide the students with technical skills so that they can implement these concepts directly on their research or on real-world applications that make them competitive within the market force they wish to enter.

Teaching Responsibility & Course Development.

Following my start on the tenure track as an Assistant professor in December 2007, I developed a vision of the courses I had to teach in the FME department. This vision was largely shaped through very valuable interactions with faculty and careers responsible, and with the path followed in the careers study plan.
